| Look back, Reflect, Move forward |
Before my SQ flight to Delhi on my way to Srinagar within Jammu and Kashmir, my wife and I decided to check-in early. We had about 4 hours in the transit area and we began to explore what one of the world's best airport had to offer. In the transit area of Changi Airport Terminal 3, there were several must-dos; butterfly garden, free movie screenings and also the secret sky train ride from T3 to T2 which cuts through Jewel.

When we landed in Delhi and while waiting for our connecting flight to Kashmir, we tried to connect to the airport's free WiFi but could not. It was a bad omen. Luckily, we had bought postpaid data through Singtel's ReadyRoam plans. We updated our families and uploaded some photos onto our social media sites. Little did we know that that would be the last of our access to the Internet world for the next 5 days. #disconnectedtothenetandconnectedtoeachother

Being off the grid actually felt good. At least those 5 days were quite refreshing but I wonder if I could survive without network access for 5 months like how the people in Kashmir have been suffering ever since the political situation there has led to network disruptions since August 2019. Nonetheless, my time in Kashmir has highlighted to me the potential benefits of setting aside time to disconnect and just live as well as appreciate life without tech. Besides the fact that the photos below are taken using tech tools, it had to be edited or updated only on 'latergram' and somehow the conversations and appreciations we had were much more deeper and genuine. Maybe this can be something enforced in a more considered manner in homes or schools here IN Singapore in the future.
