Google Cloud Platform

May the Force be with you
The past weeks, I have actually been on a mission to complete some quests. No, I have not been stuck on a game like Runescape (old-school). Rather, I have been on a #MajulahGCP challenge.
Given a list of quests, we were tasked to choose 4-15 to complete to get the Google SWAGs
I must have been too busy to share about it here unfortunately as the #MajulahGCP challenge is over (since 26th April 2020). Nonetheless, there are ways to get an online subscription or even to pick up the skills from Qwiklabs.

"Complete 4 quests or more from the list below,
Infrastructure
Big Data & Machine Learning
Application Development

I only managed to complete 10 and even then my SWAGs will not be arriving so soon due to the COVID-19 situation. I focused a bit more on the Big Data and Machine Learning quests which had labs where I could familiarise myself with Tensorboard and more features available on the Google Cloud Platform which usually required a subscription (read: Payments!).

The great thing was that after the quests, Google offered a promo specialisation on Coursera with free certification too. I don't think the link I got still works but I read https://cloud.google.com/blog/topics/training-certifications/google-cloud-training-available-at-no-cost-for-30-days that you can claim some freebies for your own professional development here.

Alternatively, if you are not so keen to pick up GCP skills, I came across a curated list of Coursera courses which come with free verified certificates for a limited time offer only. Do check it out and happy learning! I am taking up a Korean language course as well as a design course to upskill while WFH-ing.
