Pizza Cut

Recently, I have been thinking about how I could create augmented reality experiences that get users to appreciate the maths in their surroundings. I wrote about the 'Curved 3D figures' effect I made using the Spark AR Studio in the previous week which showed a rotating sphere/cone/cylinder in the user's world space. Still raw and not as interactive, the effect could be improved if I had nets of the 3D model which the users could then unravel the surface areas but I do not have access to those yet.

The Pizza Cut logo

I created a 'Pizza Cut' effect which allows the user to overlay the filter over a round cake or pizza and then cut it into 8/9/10 equal parts (they can therefore also cut it into 2,3,4,5 equal parts as those are factors). I have included 2 videos of the IG filter in action below. The logo is just a stacked up versions of the overlays and the effect name is a wordplay or homonym of the more popular pizza shops.

Next up, I plan to explore Fibonacci numbers and the Goldn ratios too. ook out for those IG/FB filters/effects when they get cleared from the review process.
