12 August 2020, Google organised the Anywhere School 2020. There were 3 versions, 1 for Americas, 1 for Europe and 1 for Asia Pacific. For us in Singapore, the APAC one makes most sense (although there's no presentation by Singapore). You should be able to watch/catch the videos here.
I was impressed by the student leader's confidence in communicating clearly to a global audience
At 9am GMT+08, New Zealand's representatives shared about equity in education and at 9.30am Australia's reps spoke about student wellbeing which is definitely a hot topic with the current Covid situation where a lot of learning and more is happening online.
Started off his segment with a little gesture to the indigenous people of the land. Respect!
Well-being of students go beyond Cyber Wellness
In the break between Australia and Korea's sharing, a duo from 'Using Technology Better' shared a bit more on the use of Google Tools for Social and Emotional Learning. Amongst the points shared included the fact that Google Meet complies with many international privacy standards if that was a concern for the use of videoconferencing tools.
Unfortunately, the sharing by Korea on the New Normal was in the Korean Language and even though I had previously made some efforts to learn the language, I was still unable to understand much. Perhaps you may want to watch the rest of the videos yourself if they still have it on Youtube. I could not watch the rest live as I had work that I needed to focus on then. Also, apparently some of the other Asian sharing were not in English so I could only take notes for the ones from Malaysia and Indonesia due to my knowledge of Bahasa Melayu.
