LXP by NTUC Learning Hub

Make use of this offer if you are an NTUC member. Superb value for money!

So, according to this newspaper report last year in November, the National Trade Union Congress (NTUC) LearningHub launched the Learning eXperience Platform (LXP) app which has more than 75,000 courses for working adults to learn on the go and learn for life. Recently, I came across the above promotion for NTUC members and found that it was pretty worth it to try using the app especially since I could use my SkillsFuture credits and also tap on my Union Training Assistance Programme (UTAP) funding. So for $60, I got 2 years' worth of subscription access to the app which is free to download.

This is what the app looks like after logging in.

A few days after the payment transaction, I received my account login details and I started to explore the app. I have used several other similar learning platforms before (in fact MOE has one too called OPAL 2.0).

There are categories that one can choose from easily if one is unsure where to start. I like how I could choose based on adaptive skills, sectors or technical skills. For me, it was an easy pick as I wanted to see if there was anything I could learn about blended learning, especially with all the work that I have to do (and have done) in that space. I have included some screenshots from the course below. However, I must add that the course is meant for adult education/training.

Notably, the course mentioned flipped learning and Bloom's Taxonomy amongst other things. I also like the various infographics that were included as part of the course. However, learning purely through the mobile phone was not so easy or intuitive. That is why it is important for me to spend time looking through some of the screenshots and downloading some of the pdf documents for me to reflect on my learnings. I hope I will get to learn a lot more from the app as part of my own lifelong learning journey.

Check out the slides I shared with at my Branch meeting about my Professional Development Journey:
