I had the chance to go on a short road trip with my parents to visit my grandmother's sister in Malaysia last weekend. I decided to spend some time with my ageing parents and also (grandparents) over some 'slower' living back at the 'kampong'.
According to Wikipedia, 'slow living' is a lifestyle which encourages a slower approach to aspects of everyday life, involving completing tasks at a leisurely pace. After the trip, I realised that 'slow living' is definitely something I would like to get more of every once in a while. Another realisation I made was that I spent more time looking up (at the sky, the trees, and nature in general) than down (at my handphone, my screens or any electronic devices for that matter). I had richer conversations and got a good break for my own mental well-being.

However, to be transparent, I did still play with some gadgets (drone and 360 Camera) that had been underutilised back in Singapore.

Another highlight of the trip was a gentleman's haircut I got at Joe's Barber Shop (a franchise of the Subang Jaya Barber Shop by Joe Flizzow). They had an old school arcade machine and even a ticket dispenser machine for me to get my number '069' (trended according to some students) to wait for my turn. Even my father decided to get a haircut at the same place too after looking at my new hairdo. That's all for today's post. Let me dedicate the following Youtube videos from the '16 baris' series by Joe. Basically, rappers from all over South East Asia are invited to drop 16 bars of original rap and some rappers from Singapore are included below too.
