Generalist Badge

In the past few months, I have been going on DevPost to check out the various hackathons and innovation challenges that have been launched worldwide for any 'global citizen' to participate in.

 

My DevPost portfolio

I have joined 3 hackathons despite my sad skills (I am still learning) and although I did not win anything I had the opportunity to design and innovate to address specific calls for project submissions. My portfolio includes 1 visual novel, 1 basic hypercasual game as well as an AR Instagram effect linked to Mathematics (the Golden Ratio). The other entry is a hybrid where an Instagram effect is connected to an improved hypercasual game (Soaper 5). I am pretty proud of my projects althought they have not won prizes, there's appreciation by global users with likes and I even won myself some Facebook SWAGs for the FB hackathon to create World AR filters/effects. 

The badges I've earned

This site also gamifies the experience for users by awarding users badges for small 'wins' and achievements. I have earned 6 thus far including the genreralist badge up top for having participated in 3 hackathons. Interestingly, Singapore's GovTech also hosted a hackathon using this platform for innovations that address COVID-19 related problems/issues. I did not submit an entry but I took part in the webinars and expert sharing tp gain insights into the opportunities in the social space especially since I am keen in the use of technology for social good. I will continue learning and upgrading myself to be able to commit to a more meaningful project in due time. For now, I am actually involved in a Data Arcade Tournament using Tableau  for public officers which is organised by GovTech. I will share more on that when I have more details.
