I ever wrote about data visualisation perhaps sometime late last year in my post about
Google's Data Studio. That tool is pretty powerful and free and it sync well with data in Google Sheets. This time, I would like to share a bit more about Tableau which is a Data Visualisation software which can be used to tell stories with dashboards filled with 'Viz's (short for Visualistations).

As I recently joined the Data Arcade Tournament 2020 (DATxMOE version) which is a Data Visualisation competition at the Whole-of-Government level (organised by GovTech), I have been picking up Tableau skills through multiple platforms.
I started (and completed) a course on Udemy (as part of CSC's Learn app) which went into quite advanced level applications of the software's features. I enjoyed the points raised about
design like the
Gestalt principles for example.

For now, I am still looking for inspiration to tell a data story as my teammate and I are relatively new to data visualisations like those above. Just to share, lone of last year's winners looked at bus journeys to different Bubble Tea shops around Singapore. I will update further on this blog about my Tableau or data viz journey.
A sample of one Viz I was working on just for fun with data available online. More
