As part of my work in TfL within ETD, I lead a team that looks into ways to help students explore various interests (as part of Student-Initiated Learning). One day, one of my design leads from Experience Strategy and Design (ESD) in GovTech, shared the above link to a book recommender site which kind of makes choosing a book to read a more appealing and personal experience.
In my time with Muis' Strategic Planning and Policy Office (SPPO), another colleague shared the link to the Viral Post Generator pictured above. (I think the link is down) The idea is simple, funny even, and engages users in a way that encourages follow-up action too.
With prior work done exploring the idea of a recommender or idea generator, my team then set out to build an interest discovery quiz that we found pretty accurate for the students we tested it with. My teammate who coded it up was also super enthusiastic when working on it and I am really heartened when he shared that the opportunity to work on it and to use his abilities to programme such a tool was much appreciated by him. I hope to continue to innovate and empower those around me to achieve success in creative ways with inspiration from all around us.
